THE DARK LADY

Goddess Crone, so dark and wise,

Truth is written in your eyes.

You are Winter's darkened days,

You are Luna's waning phase,

You are She of maturation,

You are Hecate's lunation,

You are magick of the Earth,

You are death that brings rebirth.

In My Mind's Eye

In My Mind's eye, I see the circle of light,

Shining e'er so brightly amidst the shadows of the night.

I hear the leaves rustling in the wind;

the birds chirping and beating their wings;

The tall oak trees and ancient pines are all around;

And from the depths of the forest

come the owl, the stag, two squirrels and a hare.

All of them make their presence known with great care.

The Lady of the Moon sends her silver rays down;

As the High Priestess puts on her crescent crown;

The sisters and brothers hold their hands and form a ring;

Together, with perfect love and perfect trust, they chant and sing.

In my mind's eye, the circle of light gets brighter and brighter as it grows,

The Goddess and the God are ever present and their love truly shows.

(Untitled)

Wicked weeds push forth the earth,

gradually evading the dark moist dirt,

climbing higher to be kissed by the sun,

then plucked from its root by a gardeners thumb.

Weeds aren't wicked, they struggle to survive,

only wanting to live, not to die.

The dandelion's color, so yellow and fair,

loosely held within a child's hair.

Precious fields where wild flowers grow,

where butterflies frolic, where peace is known.

That is the way the Gods meant for them to be,

respect, loved, admired and free...

Phaelline

(published in print as "Elemental Goddess Daughter")

On gossamer wings do faeries fly

as pixies in their rosebuds lie

Candle flicker, incense burn

spirit to its home return

Casting, divining, drawing down the moon

enter the circle of power soon

Enchantment courts the seeking soul

projecting as the dream unfolds

Waning moon or witching hour

offering of sacred dower

Fertile womb of Mother Earth

skyclad from the great rebirth

Scattering of telling rune

sisters unite by rite of moon

Earth, Air, Fire, Water

elemental goddess daughter

Midsummer Muse

'Tis Midsummer sure indeed

and the Great Mother carries his seed.

Heavy with child on this longest of days

she watches o'er us with a mothering gaze.

We ask her protection over field, home and beast

while we circle, then sit for our feast.

Untitled

When I resort to childhood thoughts

of nature's magick ways,

the happiness that fills my heart

can carry me for days.

I go outdoors and smell the air

and feel the grass below,

Lay on the earth, look through the trees

and that is when I know.

The universe with all its stars,

that just hang in the sky,

and the thought that without gravity

that then I too could fly.

I hear and smell and feel and know

and with my heart I see,

That all the things I love so much

are all a part of me!

Mystical Mountains

The mountains' colors are of a pastel rainbow,

Shades of blue, pink, lavender, and yellow.

Mother Earth's creation stands graciously beneath the clouds;

And when night falls, the mountains form a mystical shroud.

The Lord of the Sun shines his rays at the break of dawn,

Just when the morning dew glistens on the forest lawn.

As the sun sets against the mountain's white snow,

The Lady's silver jewel stands alone with a brilliant glow.

MOON SHADOWS

Just as soon as it gets dark

I hear a calling that I must hark

I go outside to where the light doesn't reach

For I have come to teach

The moon shadows how to dance

They come from near and far

Shimmery and shiny like a bright new star

Dark and night

But so bright

They outdo the moon

They surround me all the time

Always talking in a rhyme

Fast and slow!

There they go!

To dance the night away
