THE CHAKRAS

The Chakras are centers in the human body where concentrated spiritual

energies reside.  The light energy of the chakras cannot be seen by the human

eye, but can be detected by psychic or spiritual means.  The chakras can serve

as indicators of physical illness (both present and future), spiritual crisis, or

general imbalance in a person.

Many spiritual people "open" or "cleanse" their chakras to facilitate

meditation or to promote physical or spiritual health.   Often a person will

visualize each of their major chakras being filled with swirling white light,

washing away any residue of negative energy stored there.

There are seven major chakras:

Root Chakra - located at the base of the spine

Sacral Chakra - located in the genital region

Solar Plexus Chakra - located at the "V" created by the rib cage

Heart Chakra - located at the midpoint between chest and shoulder blades

Throat Chakra - located at the base of the throat

Third Eye Chakra - located between the eyebrows

Crown Chakra - located at the top of the head
